With Fairtrade sales on the rise and over 3000 Fairtrade certified products available throughout Australia and New Zealand, there has never been a better time to engage with Fairtrade.
In the 2014-2015 annual report released today, Fairtrade ANZ's CEO Molly Harris Olson reflects on the important work Fairtrade does to help grow sustainable futures for the world's 1.5 million Fairtrade farmers and workers.
"Unlocking the power of Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand has been an exciting and formidable task over this last year. While growing Fairtrade sales from $AUD 259 million last year to $AUD 300 million this year; and developing a landmark partnership with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT); we have been able to dramatically expand our vision and strategy for empower small farmers and workers in our region and beyond."
The annual report, 'Growing sustainable futures', provides great insight into a year of dynamic work, exploring the impact of, not only our campaigns, but our work on the ground with small producer organisations and farmers.
Looking forward, we embrace sustainability as the next boom across Australia and New Zealand, and look forward to unlocking this huge potential over the next year.
